The Jackal, a bone scavenging beast,was deified was the god to protect the embalmed dead in ancien Egypt. A statue of this creature, “Anubius the Jackal” stood at the burial chamber of the mighty Pharaon Tutankhamen for centuries until its dicsovery in 1922. Just before 3100 BC, Egyptian’s worship of gods in mans form came to being, thus transforming Anubius to human body form with the traditional Jackal’s head. You may visit the Cairo Museum in Egypt for a peek at the originals, or you may have your own, faithfully recreated in resin,finished by hand and detailed with rich gold tones.
